SCHOLASTIC RECOGNITION PROGRAM

DHYFA together with JFA offers a scholarship program and scholastic program so that our youth will be encouraged to perform well on the football field and, more importantly, to perform well in the classroom. By the organization investing more people, time, and money toward the student side of our student-athlete, we will be helping our young people to be better prepared as they enter high school, vocational school, college, and ultimately the work force.

We want to encourage our players and cheerleaders to take very serious the preparation and hard work that is required to get a good education. While in our youth football program, it is important that we take the challenge to encourage our youth to keep their grades up, maintain high classroom attendance, get involved in other school activities which will make them a well-rounded citizen and an asset to society.

The scholastic recognition program, which consists of two different awards, is for present JFA participants only. The medal awards will be given out all during the season to players and cheerleaders being recognized for grades, grade improvement, perfect attendance, etc. We encourage medals to be presented in the presence of teammates. The scholastic plaque awards are for students with the highest grade point averages. There will be at least two awards per team. These awards are presented at the end of the season, preferably during the 9th week of the season.
